G'day and welcome I'm Darren Howie and Vortex Aviation Photography is my small but hopefully significant addition to the photographic world.

I've been taking photos for most of my life and even though my day job is being an Airbus A-320 Captain for a Major Australian airline photography is still my passion.

Luckily for me flying jet aeroplanes allows me to take cameras to places normal photographers have a hard time getting into in the post 9/11 world. So enjoy the sneak peak onto the other side of the flight deck door and the best office view in the world.

I love the distinct images provided by long 500mm and 800mm lenses and i'm sure you will agree that they give you a unique view very few aviation photographers can provide.

For these reasons my photos have appeared on numerous websites and magazines around the world.

Most of my images are available for sale either in print form or as digital media for private and commercial use.
